Standard Triage Categories
Common color-coding system used in mass casualty incidents
RED - Immediate
Life-threatening injuries requiring immediate treatment. Airway obstruction, uncontrolled bleeding, shock.
YELLOW - Delayed
Urgent but can wait. Stable with treatment delay acceptable. Burns, fractures, moderate wounds.
GREEN - Minor
Walking wounded. Minor injuries that can wait hours/days. Minor cuts, bruises, psychological support.
BLACK - Deceased
Dead or expected to die. No signs of life or injuries incompatible with life given available resources.
